Lessons
How do I start living on mission?
We can make assumptions about who needs Jesus and who He doesn’t. In this lesson, Kelli talks about the four easy steps for how we live out Jesus’ instructions found in Matthew 28, also known as the Great Commission. We can begin partnering with God in prayer and asking him to align our hearts with his as we become observers of those that need to hear the Gospel.
How do I earn the right to share my faith?
An opportunity to share our faith happens only when we become curious about others. In this lesson, Blake talks about why it’s important to begin practicing how to ask great questions and be great listeners so that we might build real relationships that result in gospel conversation which ultimately leads to discipleship and multiplication.
What is evangelism?
Figuring out a solution means we have to first identify the problem. In this lesson, Erik demonstrates a simple and creative way to share the Gospel using the 3-circles method. Living on mission requires us to be prepared to share the Gospel at any moment so we need to be ready to communicate it.
How can I be a good listener?
God is actively at work in us and through us, so we have to know how to be good listeners of the Holy Spirit and of people. In this lesson, Vivi tells us how to seek obedience rather than results as we persevere in the pursuit of people’s hearts. To avoid burnout, discouragement and loss, we can practice being good listeners and discern where God wants to take us.
How can I be a good mentor?
We’re not meant to do life alone. In this lesson, Dan talks about the importance of mentorship - whether you are in a place where you are seeking a mentor or you are ready to move into a mentor role yourself, mentorship plays a valuable and vital role in your personal relationship with Jesus.
How do I make disciples?
We make disciples most effectively in community with others, where we intentionally equip disciples to become disciple-makers. In this lesson, Nick tells us how to proactively make disciples not just by telling people how to follow Jesus, but by showing them and then showing them how to show others until we have significantly multiplied the number of believers!
How do I find life-changing relationships?
Community is a necessity in the life of a follower of Jesus, but how do you know if it’s working or valuable? In this lesson, Adam shares the strategy for community groups at Sandals Church and emphasizes the purpose of gathering in this way. The focus of community groups is centered around the journey of a disciple - loving God, loving people and living on mission.
How do I baptize someone?
How do you know when someone is ready to be baptized and what if they are ready to take the next step but there isn’t a baptism scheduled at your church for the next few months? In this lesson, Jeff walks you through the steps of how to identify when someone is ready to be baptized and how to actually baptize them! Baptizing others is a key component of how we live on mission.
